Still-life photography is a style that focuses on a subject or multiple different subjects in one photograph and can also be a perfect way to showcase and capture different multicoloured objects around us for the magazine and the photography competition.

I intend on making the connection between photography and colour blindness to further show the importance of colours and how it will be like for people with colour blindness. As much as they aren’t able to appreciate the common colours around us, people who are colour blind are unable to appreciate different colour tones in art, photography sculptures, and even murals.

Photography has the same power as graphic design which is to be able to convey different messages and topics. It has many potentials in co-existing with designs and creating a project that is not only aesthetic to look at but also to raise awareness and shine a light on topics that needed to be talked about more in our society.

My intent for this project is to use photography with the topic of colour blindness as it is a good way for me to portray the view of people who are colour blind through photography that will be showcased in a photography competition and the photography magazine for the Independent Project. This not only helps me learn and improve but also help in raising awareness on colour blindness and how they see the world.

Still-life photography is a way for me to learn new photography skills and to test out different styles in my photographs to enhance my work in the future.
It is also an important part of the magazine as photographs of colourful common objects around us will be captured and edited to portray the different realities of colour blindness and a normal vision
